About
I have built grill tables for Gas Grills, Pellet Smokers, Kamado Smokers, and Pizza Ovens. Not all of my builds have been transformed into detailed plans... but if they exist you will find them here at GrillTablePlans.com or at my original blog SearedandSmoked.com
Here at GrillTablePlans.com you will find my best ideas for enhancing your backyard grilling experience. I truly believe these grill tables allow you to cook more often and have more fun doing it. It is all about creating something in your own backyard that you and your family will enjoy for years to come.
My wife and I currently live in West Des Moines with our Son and Dog(s). We usually have two dogs in the family, depending on what phase we are in with our current pups. We have been lucky to have some great ones. Miles, Eddie, Booker, and Arlo have been great family additions... and we look forward to the next dog when the time is right.
Personal Notes
I am married to my awesome wife Jill and we live in Des Moines, Iowa. How do I know she is awesome? I have three grills and counting and she let me buy a granite countertop for my DIY outdoor kitchen. We do not even have granite in our indoor kitchen! If you want to check out my grilling set up, check it out here. She also makes me eat vegetables, so you will find some vegetable dishes on this Blog too. Thank Jill for that one. Here is a pic of us from our trip to San Francisco last year….
We have two spoiled dogs, Booker and Eddie, who run the house. Booker is the white labrador below and Eddie is the coyote looking Shepard-Border Collie mix. They have it pretty good, I must say. When we are not cooking up something good, we are probably working on a home improvement project or watching too much bad television. We are suckers for any drama or comedy on HBO or Showtime that does not include vampires.
We love to travel when we have the time and money. Between the two of us we have lived in Iowa, California, Oregon, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. I love trying regional cuisine as there is no better way to be inspired to cook something new. Have you ever had that moment when you try something when on vacation and think, “How do I create this at home?”. That happens every time we go somewhere new.
Before I ventured into Landscape Architecture, I was an engineer. I take a scientific problem solving approach to cooking. If something fails, make a change and try again. With a few tries, you can make anything you want. Lucky for you, I have put in the time to make learning to cook easier for you. If you love great food…. you can be a great cook. Come along for the ride to learn some great recipes and techniques that will bring your BBQ Grill & Kitchen to life.
